i am an ex-witness who faded from the religion about 4 years ago.

interestingly, i am not new to this board because i have been lurking here for over 2 years and enjoying the great wealth of spiritual food here.

i feel so connected with many of the posters here because of my passive involvement with this board.

What Is God Doing?

what can you point to right now, that god is doing?

if he is maintaining the universe, can this be scientifically shown?

if he gives life to the newly firtilised egg cell, can that be scientifically shown?

judging by how things are going down here, I truly believe the Almighty Gods are directing their attention to some other project other than life on earth.

Perhaps the JW theory that God is allowing plenty of time for mankind to realize they cannot govern themselves is right. They are correct in some respects, you all know.

the watchtower tries to slander and abuse anyone not on their side.

anyone that disagrees with them, "runs ahead of jehovah".

we are called "apostates" because we dare prove why the society is wrong.

I believe once out, there's no fighting back. Fighting against what?! Liberation from the claws of the Org is the glorious crowning after the long fight, IMO.

i wanted to get your opinions on this since it's been bothering me for quite a while.. when i was hired at my job more than 5 years ago, the place was busy as hell.

i was originally hired to help in the circuit board manufacturing.

the guy who was doing it was flooded with work and couldn't keep up.

Eventually I'll get a different translation of the Bible and read it from time to time.

ladies, since maverick posted his topic, i just had to post one for us ladies!

in fact, i wanted to just share a nightmare basically on the same topic, that i had last night.............just a refresher course on my status: i was a dub for twenty-five years, met a worldly guy when i was 18 and he came in to the "truth".

we dated, then got married at 21. we were married for twenty years, then i told him i wanted to end the marriage.

i sent the co a christmas card and asked him how his golf game was going.

most all the co's and do's i knew lived for mondays so they could go play golf!

i also mentioned how sorry i was for him, even if he knew what he was promoting was a lie, he was stuck pushing the wts policies.

Also, I don't know if my husband still does it without me noticing it, but before we used to contribute pretty handsome donations to give to the CO during his visit. NOT ANYMORE!

I'm even thinking about cutting the contributions to the KH constructions and the Worldwide Work; since bills still need to get paid at the KH, I'm thinking about contributing a very small figure monthly towards it, but nothing else.

God, I'm really getting cheap in my old age!

Whenever I find out that the CO, DO, missionaries, Bethelites, or any 'supposedly' important ones are coming around my cong, those are the meetings I make sure I come in late and leave immediately after the Amen.

The latest CO visit, the wife passed right by me and I guess being acustomed to all the attention she may have thought I'd make a big deal, but I just gave her the brush off as if she wasn't even there.

I hate that about my still JW peers, they worship men like the best of them!

Are The Holidays Bothering You At All?

this is the first time i say, "merry christmas" back to someone.

Truth be told, all the holiday celebrations throughout the years, add to that people's birthdays, and it can run you 100x more than the silly contributions given in the WTBTS.

So, as my mother always tells me... "no situation is all good or all bad". However, I am having a better time these holidays.

No problem at all reciprocating greetings. Have even thought about giving some gifts, but I'm not absolutely sure yet.

'Soul mate' is just one of those popular expressions out of the 90's generation. Quite a silly concept really.
